For the first time citizen researchers can create visual maps of donations. To layout donor patterns visually gives more context and transparency to analyzing donations. No campaign finance law in the world is as effective as transparency of the political process.
The money tree was built by blogger Joseph at Plunderbund and shows the commitment and creativity of blogger/activists. We are glad to host it and have plans to offer several improvements on an on-going basis.
Researchers should remember that donations are legal and it is the transparency of the influence that can serve as a check and balance toward open, honest government.
